Signal Energy’sPrincipalEngineer, Electricalwill serve as thesubject matter expertandprimary reviewer technical lead forSignal Energy’s PV and BESS electrical engineering efforts. Additionally, this roleisaccountable for developing and implementing electrical design standards and processes, growing,mentoringandmanagingthe electricaldesign team andcollaborating across disciplines toensure our construction teams haveconstructable designs on time and in full compliancewith client and regulatory requirements.

Reportsto: E VP Director of Engineering , Engineering & Battery Storage Location/Travel: Remote or Chattanooga, TN ; periodictravel for client meetings, project site visits, and industry events Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve a robust set of design standards, templates and best practices
  • Recruit and mentor e lectrical e ngineering team members that embody Signal Energy’s Core Principles
  • Oversee all electrical engineering efforts to ensure deliverables aresubmittedon time,comply withclient and regulatory requirements, meet quality standards , and align with budget and constructabilityexpectations
  • Review Conduct and r eview electrical engineering design s and studies to develop deliverablesand act as Engineer of Record for one or more projects simultaneously
  • Lead, m anag e , and mentor the electrical design team on the technical delivery of PV and BESS projects
  • Develop,implementand continuously improve a robust set of design standards,templatesand best practices
  • Recruit and mentor electrical engineering team members that embody Signal Energy’s Core Principles
  • Champion innovation and creativity in design tools,processesandplanttechnologytokeepSignal Energy an industry leader inPV and BESSengineering,procurementand construction
  • Maintain knowledge ofcurrent and pendingindustry codesand standards;incorporate same into design tools and processes
  • Interface with clientsand other stakeholderstooptimizeproject design and value; be the go-to expertfor technical solutions
  • Support pursuits with input on conceptual designs and engineering budgets
  • Support Operations through resolution of RFIs, field changes and other design-related issues, including technical evaluations of any proposed changes to project design requirements, material specifications or means and methods
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplinesto ensure seamless integration of civil,structuraland high voltage designpackages
Attributes and Competencies :
  • Technicalexpertise in Electrical Engineering, including the preparation and assembling of plans, studies, calculationsand specifications .
  • Effective leader focused on developing and empowering teambut willing to get“in the trenches” when necessary to meet objectives
  • Highly organized, with ability to prioritize and track multiple, concurrent, high impact activities

Required Skills and Experience :
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Electrical Power Engineering.
  • 10+yearsof power system design and engineering , including 5+yearsin PV or BESS
  • Professional Engineer license(one or more US states)
  • Experience leading a team of engineers and designers
  • Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, NEMA, IEEE and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Proficiencyin applicable engineering software including AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst/SAM, and relevant electrical system analysissoftwarepreferred
  • EPC experience preferred
