Project Manager – Drive Commercial and Federal Construction Excellence


Job Overview

  • Company: Pointer Construction Group, LLC.
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $100,000 - $130,000 per year.
  • Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (20% travel required).
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
  • Project Scope: Commercial, Government, and Federal Construction.
  • Mandatory Licences & Certifications: None Required.


The Opportunity

You will drive the operational, administrative, and financial success of commercial and government construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. Working closely with Project Executives and Superintendents, you will build strong relationships with stakeholders while maintaining strict budget and schedule controls. This role gives you the platform to manage high-impact projects while leading and mentoring junior project management staff.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Oversee all project administration, preconstruction setup, permitting, and vendor purchasing schedules.
  • Track project data, change orders, cost reports, and submittals using Trimble ProjectSight and Spectrum software.
  • Conduct routine field inspections to verify quality standards, safety compliance, and progress against contract plans.
  • Prepare accurate monthly Schedule of Values, Applications for Payment, and detailed Cost Projection Worksheets.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings with owners, architects, subcontractors, and superintendents to ensure seamless execution.
  • Lead and mentor Project Engineers and Administrators to build a high-performing project team.
  • Secure final inspections, Certificates of Occupancy, and oversee complete project closeout document packages.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of related project management experience with a General Contractor.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading blueprints, specifications, bid comparisons, and contract documents.
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience managing cost projections and project budgets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities paired with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred 5 years of related work experience in commercial or federal construction.
  • Experience using Trimble ProjectSight and Spectrum software.
  • Active safety certifications, including OSHA training.
