Position Overview
Rugs USA is seeking a highly organized, results-driven Project Management Office (PMO) Manager / Strategic Project Manager to join our Pricing & Assortment Planning team. Reporting to the VP of Pricing, Assortment & Merchandise, this role will lead enterprise-wide strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence, business growth, and cross-functional alignment.
In this position, you will serve as the central coordinator and facilitator for major business projects, including enterprise technology implementations, a company-wide product milestone calendar, process transformation initiatives, and other strategic programs. You will partner closely with executive leadership, technology, merchandising, sourcing, operations, marketing, finance, and other business teams to keep critical work moving forward, visible, and aligned to company priorities.

Essential Job Functions
Strategic Project Leadership
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic, cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, resource requirements, budgets, risk assessments, and communication plans.
  • Drive accountability among stakeholders and project teams to ensure milestone achievement.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and obstacles while developing mitigation strategies.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on project status, key milestones, risks, and outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary project manager for the implementation and adoption of a new enterprise IT projects including a data warehouse implementation, ERP transition, and other projects as needed
    • Coordinate internal business stakeholders, data teams, technology partners, and external vendors.
    • Manage project timelines, requirements gathering, testing, training, and change management activities.
    • Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery.
    • Monitor project performance and facilitate issue resolution throughout implementation.
  • Own and maintain the enterprise product milestone calendar across merchandising, sourcing, product development, marketing, and operations teams.
    • Ensure key product launch dates, assortment reviews, vendor milestones, forecasting activities, and go-to-market deadlines are clearly defined and communicated.
    • Facilitate recurring cross-functional meetings to track progress and resolve timeline conflicts.
    • Develop reporting mechanisms to improve visibility and adherence to critical milestones.

PMO Development & Governance
  • Establish PMO standards, tools, processes, and best practices to improve project execution across the organization.
  • Create project prioritization frameworks and governance processes.
  • Develop and maintain project portfolios, dashboards, and KPI reporting.
  • Standardize project documentation, status reporting, and stakeholder communications.
  • Promote disciplined project management practices throughout the business.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with business leaders across merchandising, pricing, planning, supply chain, operations, customer experience, finance, and technology.
  • Facilitate workshops, steering committee meetings, and executive reviews.
  • Align project objectives with corporate strategy and key business priorities.
  • Drive organizational change management and user adoption initiatives.

You Have
We're looking for someone who brings strong project management discipline, business partnership, and the ability to turn complex cross-functional priorities into clear plans, accountable owners, and measurable progress.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Information Systems, Operations, or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience leading large-scale, cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise technology implementations.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
  • Experience creating executive presentations, project dashboards, and status reporting.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority and drive accountability across teams.
  • Advanced proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar).

Preferred Skills
  • Experience implementing data platforms, BI solutions, data warehouses, or analytics capabilities.
  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, merchandising, supply chain, or consumer goods industries.
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience building or leading a PMO function.
