Job description

Job Title: Sign Crater
Perks & Benefits:
  • Up to $500 Sign-On Bonus!!!
  • Monthly Perfect Attendance Bonus!!!
  • Great Benefits and Working Environment!!!

Build It. Box It. Ship It. If you love working with your hands, reading blueprints, and building things that actually go places-this job is for you.
Identiti Signs (Formerly Cummings Signs) creates exterior and interior signage and branding elements for some of the world's most iconic companies. We've been doing it since 1946, and our secret sauce is simple: great clients + an even better team.
We're looking for a Sign Crater-someone who can build custom wooden crates and safely pack large, odd-shaped signage so it arrives looking perfect.
What You'll Be Doing
No two days look exactly the same, but here's the core of the role:
  • Build & Assemble: Fabricate custom wooden crates and boxes for signs and specialty products by laying out dimensions, sawing materials to size, and assembling.
  • Interpret Specs: Read blueprints, shipping notices, and other specifications to determine the correct container size, shape, and necessary supports.
  • Pack & Protect: Secure heavy items by bolting them to the bottom of the container or skid. Wrap and pad products with packing material, build the crate around the article, and securely nail the cover on.
  • Prep for Shipping: Wrap and tighten metal bands around crates. Attach identification labels or stencils noting shipping destination, weight, and type of product.
  • Quality Control: Weigh loaded crates, count items to ensure compliance with shipping orders, and repair broken crates when needed.
  • Maintain Workspace: Move containers to the shipping area, keep the crating area stocked with lumber and wrapping supplies, and maintain tools (including sharpening saw blades).

Basically: you make sure our signs travel safely and professionally.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: Carpentry or hands-on construction experience is a big plus. Comfortable laying out dimensions with rulers, measuring tapes, and pencils.
  • Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Comprehension: Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Communication: Able to write simple correspondence and effectively present information to teammates and other employees.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • One to three months of related hands-on experience and/or training is a bonus (but we'll teach the right person!).

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and listen.

Work Environment
  • Warehouse/manufacturing setting with a moderate noise level.
  • Temperatures may vary (comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment).

Why You'll Love It Here
  • Bonus opportunities
  • Strong benefits package
  • Team-oriented culture
  • Work you can see, touch, and be proud of

Ready to build something that matters? Apply today and become part of a team that's been shaping iconic brands for generations.
