Description

Fluoropolymer Resources LLC (FRL) is currently seeking a dedicated results driven Production Superintendent for our North Windham, CT manufacturing facility. This position plays a central role in the conversion of recycled resins into finished goods for resale into wire & cable applications and other industrial markets. FRL is the global leader in reprocessing of melt processable fluoropolymers, as well as the distribution of virgin fluoropolymer resin. We are a dynamic and flexible company on an aggressive growth trajectory, offering products and services to multiple industries in global markets as we continue to innovate and invest in production capability and people.


Position Summary:

The Production Superintendent will develop and implement daily production activities in conjunction with the schedule set by the VP of Operations. The position monitors production rates and product quality for production steps involved in recycling: sorting, shredding, grinding, and extruding and other proprietary processes. The position also manages the inbound/outbound activities and inventory management. Manpower is allocated on a priority basis to provide on time shipments, inventory management, and efficient use of production equipment. It also requires an understanding of the production equipment, processing techniques, and the materials involved while maintaining a safe working environment.


Responsibilities and Duties:

Works with VP of Operations to establish and achieve production KPIs.

Establish assignments and set expectations for operations and material flow on plant floor each day prior to beginning of each shift.

Assess and manage plant floor impediments that hinder production.

Review the logistic schedule daily to ensure material is ready for shipment or plant floor is available for material receipt.

Assess production data trends to establish short term and long-term operational goals and expectations.

Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing labor force.

Regularly conduct performance evaluations and coaching of team members.

Maintain a clean work environment on the shop floor.

Coordinate with VP Operations, Engineering and Maintenance Dept to Identify and prioritize actions resulting in continuous improvement of production activities.

Participate in leadership of safety program, including assisting in the development of safety goals and the substance of monthly safety team meetings, and attending safety meetings.

Identify and report any unsafe conditions that exist and provide possible solutions.


Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred, but work experience will be considered.

Minimum of 3 years leading a manufacturing workforce.

Bilingual is a Plus.
