$10K Sign on Bonus for candidates currently employed as garage door installer by a reputable company AND

a minimum of 1 year of garage door installation REQUIRED

Pay starts at $42 per estimated job hour (flat rate) Up to $47.25 based on experience and performance.

  • 1+ years’ Experience: $7,500 sign on bonus

  • 3+ years’ Experience: $10,00 sign on bonus

We are seeking Experienced Installers in high volume markets to join the team. As an experienced installer, you will bring your knowledge to the best in the garage door industry. You already know a lot about garage doors, our team will train you on everything else (including customer experience and our systems), so you can thrive in your very own market.

You Shouldn’t Apply If: 

  • You prefer working where there are no customers to talk to 

  • You think your work is “good enough” 

  • You think there is nothing more for you to learn 

  • You are not weather resistant (hot/cold depending on season)  

  • You don’t like driving. Your company vehicle is your office, and you will spend quite a bit of time driving to customer’s homes 

The Job:  

  • Pick up all doors and parts from warehouse  

  • Install new garage doors for residential customers  

  • Remove existing door and mechanical parts  

  • Replace worn or broken door parts using tools  

  • Assemble mechanical parts   

  • Install springs, sections, slats, and hardware  

  • Run wiring to connect equipment  

  • Lubricate and test mechanical parts for proper functioning  

  • Educate customers on upgraded parts and services and ensure satisfaction  

  • Document activities related to installations  

  • Dispose of uninstalled garage doors and parts if applicable 

Basic Requirements:  

  • Be nice! I know, we shouldn’t have to say that, but we mean it.  

  • Able to bend, climb, kneel and stand for long periods 

  • Physically able to lift 75lbs, and lift garage door panels above your head 

  • Able to stand on a ladder 

  • Expertise with power tools and hand tools 

  • Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record   

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check   

  • Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google etc as well as tablet and computer use. 

  • GED or HS diploma not required, however reading skills as well as basic math skills (measurements, payments) are required.  

  • 1+ years as experienced garage door installer required 

  • Professional appearance 

  • Employment requires current eligibility to legally work in the United States. 

The Journey of an Experienced Installer:  

  • Your journey begins at our A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ for a duration of 4 weeks.  

  • A1 covers flights and accommodation for the duration of your training in Phoenix. (Also, all apprenticeship/training weeks are paid ). 

  • During the 4 week training, you will build upon the skills that you have acquired during your career. 

  • Once you complete training, you will graduate to perform your duties in your market. Boom! 

Pay, benefits, other cool stuff: 

  • Get your very own A1 wrapped truck with a gas card. Tools provided. 

  • Steady job flow to keep you busy 

  • Weekly pay 

  • Medical, dental, vision, 401K. NOT a 1099 job. 

  • Pay starts at $42/estimated job hour (piece rate) + commission on additional sales/services 

  • $1K bonus at completion of Training Academy in Phoenix (in addition to weekly pay) 

Interview Process:    

Our interview process is not long, but it’s thorough. We want to make sure that each person who joins the team is the right fit for A1. And that we are the right fit for you!   

  • After we review your application, you will be contacted for a virtual interview with a recruiter if we want to know more. Plan on up to 30 minutes.   

  • Next step is an interview with the Area Manager for the location. Plan on approximately 30-45 minutes.  This interview may be in person, or virtual. 

  • Next step is when the fun begins: you will be invited to ride along with one of our installers so you can see what life at A1 is really like. Plan on half to full day.
