The Senior Graphic Designer is the Humane Society of Tampa Bayโ€™s primary hands-on design professional, responsible for creating and executing high-quality visual communications across the organization.

Graphic Design & Creative Execution
  • Serve as HSTBโ€™s principal hands-on graphic designer, developing creative concepts and producing high-quality visual materials from concept through final production.
  • Design materials for fundraising campaigns, special events, donor communications, advertising, community outreach, programs, and organizational initiatives.
  • Create print and digital assets including advertisements, invitations, brochures, signage, social media graphics, email graphics, presentations, reports, flyers, and promotional materials.
  • Develop campaign identities and visual concepts that effectively communicate HSTBโ€™s mission and inspire audiences to take action.
  • Translate complex information, messaging, and organizational priorities into clear and engaging visual communications.
  • Adapt creative concepts across multiple formats and channels while maintaining visual consistency.
Print & Production
  • Prepare accurate, production-ready files for commercial printing, signage, promotional products, advertising, and other applications.
  • Work directly with printers, vendors, photographers, and other creative partners to obtain specifications, troubleshoot production issues, review proofs, and ensure quality.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Proof and review final materials for visual consistency, accuracy, and production quality.
  • Partner with other departments to understand project goals and develop effective creative solutions.
  • Contribute ideas and visual strategy during campaign and project planning.
  • Provide design expertise and recommendations regarding creative approach, format, production, and visual communication.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and project oversight to graphic design interns as assigned.
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, technologies, accessibility considerations, and production practices relevant to HSTBโ€™s communications.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 7+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably including significant experience in an in-house, agency, nonprofit, or similarly fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking, typography, layout, branding, print design, and digital design.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Strong knowledge of print production, prepress requirements, file preparation, and vendor coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative concepts as well as execute detailed production work.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to receive, interpret, and thoughtfully respond to creative feedback.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, polished work.
  • Experience designing for nonprofit, fundraising, event, or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
  • Photography, video, motion graphics, digital advertising, or other complementary creative skills are a plus.
