All applicants are required to take a Pre-Employment Forklift Test at our corporate headquarters located in Irving, TX. This test accesses an applicant's basic ability to safely operate a small forklift.
Job Responsibilities:
• Transport raw steel products of various shapes and sizes using gas powered 6,000 lb. capacity industrial forklifts
• Loading/unloading of CNC steel flame-cutting tables and other plant machining centers
• Transporting in-process and finished materials throughout the plant
• Loading/unloading items on/off flatbed trucks
• Performing Inventory Control documentation
• Perform routine safety inspections prior to operating forklift
• Abide by all safety standards and policies including use of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Use two-way radio operation for communicating with teammates
• Maintain work area in clean and hazard-free condition
• Assist with other general assignments/tasks as requested by supervisor
• Minimum 3 years' experience operating industrial forklifts in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Material handling experience, not just moving pallets.
• Knowledge of how to flip and stack parts on top of each other.
• Knowledge of reading basic 2D drawings and material (BOM).
• Knowledge and understand how to put an order together.
• Knowledge of reading and understanding a tape measure. Capable of resizing material with correct measurement for reallocation with the use of a tape measure or other measuring equipment.
• Ability to interact with various internal contacts to manage the flow of work.
• Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms and other related process documents.
• Willing to work overtime as required
• Be a reliable team member and committed 100% to safety.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and reach around all areas of equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, wet, humid, dry and/or dusty conditions).
