Job description

A 99-bed acute-care facility in Irving, TX is seeking a Nurse Manager of Med-Surg. The hospital holds multiple distinctions including a Level III Trauma Center (American College of Surgeons), a Certified Primary Stroke Center (The Joint Commission), a Certified Total Hip and Knee Replacement program (The Joint Commission), Accreditation for Bariatric Surgery (MBSAQIP), a Level II Maternal Care Center (Texas Health and Human Services), and a Level II NICU program (Texas Health and Human Services).

The role. The Nurse Manager of Med-Surg provides 24/7 leadership over all departmental functions, ensuring the unit operates in alignment with broader organizational goals and current business trends. Day-to-day operational oversight includes payroll, hiring, scheduling, staff orientation, competency validation, and annual performance evaluations, as well as ongoing mentoring and coaching of team members. The manager builds and sustains effective working relationships across a broad range of constituencies — patients, families, physicians, peers, and interdisciplinary departments — to drive continuous improvement. Financial stewardship and thoughtful resource management are also core expectations of this role.

What we're looking for.

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required
  • Texas State RN or RN Compact License acceptable under eNLC guidelines
  • Previous recent Department Director or Manager experience required; will also consider a strong Charge Nurse Coordinator (CNC) looking to step into a Manager role
  • Minimum of 2+ years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required

Schedule. Full-time, days, no weekends.

Compensation. $40.79 - $61.19/hr plus $15,000 sign-on bonus
