The Concrete Carpenter is responsible for prefabrication, assembling and installation of all types of materials and structures on various types of jobsite settings and project types including water/wastewater, federal and renewable. This position reports to the Foreman and is not responsible for the oversight of other teammates. This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position.

Your Role

  • Prefabricate forms for concrete footings, walls, columns, and slabs
  • Assemble prefabricated forming systems
  • Set screeds, chamfer, and rustication strips in formwork
  • Erection and assembly of all wood framing, blocking, nailers, strapping, and carpenters iron
  • Install finished molding, beads, trim, custom millwork, cabinets, and counters
  • Install doors and finished hardware
  • Install drywall and associated metal framing
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding and staging for all trades
  • Install of acoustic tile ceilings
  • Install insulation materials including that which is blown, stapled, glued or nailed within above grade walls and slabs
  • Erect siding on buildings
  • Install wood and vinyl flooring systems
  • Window installation
  • Exterior fascia, soffits, and trim
  • Acoustical treatment
  • FRP, PVC and other plastics installation
  • Settings templates, baseplates, and anchor bolts for structural members
  • Install casework, toilet partitions, cabinets, and interior signs
  • Install firestopping materials
  • Erect temporary handrails
  • Set, place, and align wall castings and sleeves

Your Education and Experience

  • High School or Vocational and or relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the construction industry

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site
  • Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
  • Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
  • Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basis
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Travel

Job posting location does not guarantee that the position will be in that location; Methuen Construction has jobs throughout New England, and travel may be required, with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Company per diem policy will apply.
