Arizona Athletic Grounds - Mesa, AZ


Position Summary

Arizona Athletic Grounds (โ€œAAGโ€) is seeking dependable, safety-focused, and guest-oriented Shuttle Drivers to provide transportation assistance for guests visiting our large youth sports and entertainment complex. This role is centered around safely transporting guests throughout the property, with a strong emphasis on Guest Services and assisting individuals with mobility challenges, special needs, or those requiring additional support navigating the Grounds.

Ideal candidates are experienced drivers with outstanding customer service skills, a patient and welcoming demeanor, strong awareness of their surroundings, and a commitment to guest safety and hospitality.

Schedule

This is a part-time position requiring regular weekend availability, with additional availability during large events and select holidays. Hours may vary based on event schedules and operational needs.

Typical shifts may include:

  • Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday weekends
  • Early mornings, evenings, and extended event hours
  • Peak event season from September through May

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safely transport guests throughout AAG using shuttle vehicles or golf carts.
  • Assist guests with mobility limitations, special needs, or difficulty walking.
  • Provide transportation assistance from remote parking areas to entrances, fields, and event locations.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional presence while interacting with guests.
  • Offer directions, event information, and general guest assistance as needed.
  • Operate all vehicles in a safe, cautious, and attentive manner while adhering to all traffic rules, speed limits, and company safety procedures.
  • Remain highly aware of pedestrian traffic, surroundings, weather conditions, and event activity while driving.
  • Assist guests entering and exiting shuttle vehicles when appropriate.
  • Communicate professionally with guests, event staff, and supervisors.
  • Report safety concerns, incidents, accidents, or operational issues immediately.
  • Support overall guest experience initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.


Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years of age preferred.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license required.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record required; no accidents, DUI/DWI offenses, or moving violations within the past three (3) years. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check may be required prior to employment.
  • Previous professional driving experience preferred, including shuttle, hospitality, valet, transport, delivery, or similar guest service driving roles.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Patient, courteous, dependable, and service-oriented personality.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in busy, high-traffic environments.
  • Strong awareness of surroundings and commitment to safe driving practices.
  • Availability to work most weekends and select holidays is required.



Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and Arizona summer temperatures.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and entering/exiting vehicles.
  • Ability to safely assist guests boarding and exiting shuttle vehicles.
  • Must be comfortable working in crowded event environments with moderate to heavy pedestrian traffic and noise levels.
