Summary

C2 ALASKA, LLC

Silver Spring, MD

The Shuttle Operator transports passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule, assists passengers with baggage/luggage, bicycles, wheelchairs, and scooters, as necessary. Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort, complies with local traffic regulations, and reports delays, incidents, or accidents.


Responsibilities
  • Transport passengers over assigned and established routes to and from pre-established customer locations.
  • Perform minor maintenance as conditions warrant (light bulbs, oil, washer fluid, etc.)
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections per established inspection checklist pre- and post-vehicle use.
  • Operator required to assist with loading, securing, and unloading wheelchairs, scooters and bicycles as requested.
  • Maintain discipline; report unruly behavior to dispatch.
  • Report delays, incidents, and accidents.
  • Operator required to communicate via a shuttle communication device (Syncromatics).
  • Keep operational records and make simple reports.
  • Report defects or problems with the vehicle to dispatch.
  • May be required to deliver shuttle bus for maintenance, repairs, or inspections to a designated location.
  • Operator is required to fuel the vehicle with the appropriate fuel (gasoline/on-road diesel) and deliver fuel receipts to the project manager.
  • Keeps the shuttle bus broom clean, free of trash and debris.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid State Driver’s License, CDL w/Passenger endorsement.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience operating a bus, mini-bus, motor coach or equivalent.
  • Valid driving record will be required within last 30 days upon interview.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Knowledgeable of and compliances with the laws and regulations applicable to the safe operation of motor vehicles.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
