Job description

Description

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Bolt-Up Technician to join our industrial construction and maintenance team. The Bolt-Up Technician is responsible for the installation, alignment, tightening, and removal of bolted connections on structural steel, piping systems, pressure vessels, and other industrial equipment. This position requires experience using torque and pneumatic tools, reading construction drawings, and working safely in industrial environments such as refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, and manufacturing facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently during turnarounds, shutdowns, and capital projects.


Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, remove, align, and secure bolted connections on structural and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform bolt torqueing and tensioning in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Use impact wrenches, torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, and other specialized equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, work plans, and specifications.
  • Assist with rigging, signaling, and positioning equipment during crane operations.
  • Verify proper alignment, bolt patterns, and fit-up of structural and mechanical components.
  • Remove and install valves, manways, piping, and associated equipment using hand tools.
  • Install and remove blinds for equipment isolation, maintenance activities, and hydrostatic testing.
  • Inspect bolting materials and equipment to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all company and client safety policies.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Bolt-Up Technician, Boilermaker.
  • Experience working in refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, manufacturing facilities, or other industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of industrial bolting procedures and hand tool usage.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices and hazard awareness.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and shutdown/turnaround schedules as needed.
  • Must possess a valid TWIC Card.
  • Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug screen.
  • Confined Space (may be required depending on job site)
