JOB TITLE: Poker Dealer

ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: CPN Gaming Enterprises

SUPERVISOR:   Poker Floor Supervisor

FLSA: Non-Exempt

HOURLY RATE: $7.25 + Tips


ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.  


FUNCTIONS STATEMENT:

Provide outstanding customer service that meets or exceeds customer's expectations. Provide a professionally dealt game for all players and ensure that all policies and procedures as outlined by the Casino are properly enforced. Deal accurately according to procedures to maintain the highest standards of game integrity. 

Under direct supervision of the Poker Manager, Shift Manager, and Poker Floor Supervisor. 


MAJOR DUTIES:

Provides prompt, courteous and accurate dealing at assigned table.

Greets new customers and assists in seating and transferring customers.

Responsible for the protection, control and the integrity of games being dealt.

Expedites new customer chip buys and assists with table fills.

Responsible for following shuffle procedures: Shuffle -Strip- Shuffle- Shuffle, Correct card delivery/pitch, deck protection, accountability of discards, accuracy and control of the poker game.

Deals predetermined number of cards, in proper sequence around the table, based upon games being dealt and number of players.

Conducts the games in accordance with the CPN Gaming Enterprises Policies & Procedures, handling players transactions and notifying Poker Management of any irregularities.

Controls all card table gaming actions and enforces proper game rules.

Responsible for taking the proper Rake and Bad Beat Jackpot collection.

Ensures that players follow proper betting procedures.

Responsible for counting and verifying impressed bank.

Maintains a professional, friendly and courteous atmosphere providing the customers with a pleasant gaming experience.

Responsible for understanding and observing the proper dealer rotation.

Responsible for following all procedures regarding the acceptance of tips.

Promotes Player's Club Card registration with customers. Logging patrons into poker atlas for table ratings.

Responsible for adhering to Title 31 procedures.

Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for CPN Gaming Enterprises.


KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:

Knowledge of all poker games.

Knowledge of the characteristics of appropriate and inappropriate greetings and interaction with guests and customers. 

Knowledge of methods and techniques that assure protection of casino assets. 

Knowledge of management directives and policies

Knowledge of all documentation requirements for each dealer per shift. 

Knowledge of card suits and winning poker combinations.

Knowledge of the processes, rules and procedures utilized in poker games.

Ability to deal in all types of tournaments.

Complete understanding of Poker Room rules.

Knowledge of proper use of shuffle machine procedures.

Ability to work any shift hours, including weekends, and holidays.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.

One (1) year prior poker dealing experience preferred. Completion of an external or internal structure training program.

Passing of a Poker audition is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.


CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, AND ANY ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to pass background suitability investigation.

Must obtain CPN Tribal Gaming License.

Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Seeing, walking throughout the work area, on various work surfaces

Sitting, particularly for sustained periods of time.

Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles to rake in chips or cards on the table.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed indoors.

Work hours are subject to change with notice.

Smoke filled environment, exposure to various lights and sounds. Occasionally you may deal with angry or hostile individuals. 

Tasks may be performed on hard and soft-carpeted floors.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
