Responsibilities:

Content Curation

  • Oversee end-to-end curation workflows for emerging content, including tracking, evaluation, publishing, and performance evaluation.
  • Manage a team responsible for the title-by-title review of content where necessary.
  • Manage a team responsible for the direct upload and metadata processes for 1P content from across TWDC leveraging relevant systems and tools.
  • Manage a team overseeing short-form editorial roadmaps and formats informed by data and focused on subscriber engagement, business need, volume/throughput and platform-specific trends.
  • Partner with Product and UX teams to develop platform capabilities and experiences, representing the needs of subscribers, stakeholders, creators, and the business.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Content Programming, Publicity, and Originals teams to align creator content with release windows, tentpole moments, and franchise launches.
  • Ensure curated content standards adhere to quality, accessibility, and brand safety guidelines.
  • Establish editorial and curation principles aligned with brand, audience segments, and global markets.

DTC Short-form and Emerging Content Operations

  • Responsible for the overall progress and tracking of emerging content and short-form - including Creator content and related initiatives - within the DTC organization.
  • Act as the source-of-truth for processes and guidelines as the initiative scales globally, building out a team to act as subject matter experts for internal partners.
  • Lead a team in partnering with key stakeholders to define the content vision and multi-year roadmap for creator content on Disney's streaming platforms.
  • Partner with the Content Planning, Licensing & Partnerships, and Original content teams in identifying content needs.
  • Identify how creator content supports core DTC objectives, including:
    • Engagement and retention
    • Frequency and time spent
    • Franchise fandom and community participation

Subscriber Engagement

  • Use audience insights, behavioral data, and experimentation to optimize this team's role in maximizing business impact.
  • Design scalable fan participation models (e.g., submissions, challenges, creator spotlights) in partnership with relevant Marketing and other stakeholder teams that deepen emotional connection to Disney franchises.
  • Partner closely across TWDC to ensure consistency across consumer touchpoints.

Governance, Trust & Safety

  • Build out a dedicated Trust and Safety discipline in the creator space to act as a COE.
  • Partner with Legal, Brand, and Policy teams to define global guidelines for creator content usage on streaming platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with content rights, child safety regulations, regional laws, and platform standards.
  • Lead proactive risk management related to creator conduct, and reputational integrity.

Creator & Ecosystem

  • Understand creator onboarding frameworks, rights management, and monetization models where applicable.
  • Represent the interests of the creator community to ensure equitable business practices and a sustainable business model.

Measurement, Insights, and Innovation

  • Define KPIs to assess the business impact of creator content
  • Drive actionable performance insights strategies that map back to Content Strategy needs as defined by the Content Planning and Partnership team.
  • Regularly communicate performance insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing global team spanning curation, editorial strategy, and operations.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and inclusion.
  • Inspire individual and business success by clearly communicating the "why" behind business decisions and connecting teams to the big picture.
  • Define strategies, expectations, and priorities to ensure that the team's actions align with the company's success.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • 15+ years of experience in digital media, streaming, content strategy, or platform operations.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated leadership in shortform, creator content, creator ecosystems, community-driven content, editorial execution, or platform curation.
  • Strong understanding of streaming platform economics, personalization, and audience lifecycle management.
  • Trust & Safety experience
  • Familiarity with AI-driven tools.
  • Success collaborating in a highly matrixed environment and connecting the dots across multiple stakeholders.
  • Expertise in content rights, licensing, and global compliance.
  • Skilled in flexible, strategic thinking and envisioning future possibilities.
  • Strong business insight with the ability to apply market knowledge to advance goals.
The hiring range for this position in California is $285,700 to $383,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, jobrelated knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or longterm incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
