Job Overview:

  • seeking an experienced OB/GYN locum to provide solo 24-hour call coverage during short-term vacation coverage needs.
  • This is an occasional-coverage assignment with a highly efficient, supportive OB team and well-organized staffing.
  • Coverage Details • Coverage Type: 24-hour beeper call • Schedule: 7:00 a.

  • • Dates Needed: vacation coverage, ongoing coverage once or twice per quarter • Coverage Model: Solo coverage • Support: Efficient, experienced staff particularly strong C-section support • Setting: Hospital-based OB coverage only (no clinic) Clinical Scope The locum provider will be responsible for routine and emergent OB coverage, including: • Vaginal deliveries • Cesarean sections • OB call coverage for planned births and walk-in presentations High-Risk OB: High-risk cases are managed onsite when needed; however, staff providers proactively plan vacations around known high-risk deliveries.
  • No scheduled high-risk cases are expected during locum coverage.
  • Volume Expectations •Monthly Delivery Volume: Oct 2025- 30 births, Nov 2025- 21 births, Dec 2025- 29 births, January 2026-33 births - Depends on planned births and unscheduled walk-ins • Case Mix: Combination of vaginal deliveries and C-sections Call Expectations • Callback frequency varies based on delivery volume • Provider should be comfortable responding to unscheduled OB presentations • No expectation of managing scheduled high-risk cases during coverage dates Credentialing & Privileges • Emergency Privileges Available for qualified providers • Requirements: ? Active Indiana medical license ? Indiana CSR & DEA ? Quick application completion ?
