Job description

Position Summary

The Retail Sales Manager drives sales performance and customer experience through visual merchandising, product assortment, and marketing execution, while leading training and team development in partnership with the Operations Manager. This individual also represents the store in leadership meetings and maintains relationships across the Family of Companies, bringing a results-driven approach to sales, merchandising, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sales performance management, driving results and accountability across the retail team.
  • Champion a customer-first culture, ensuring an exceptional in-store experience.
  • Oversee visual merchandising, product assortment, placement, and store/window decor to reflect the brand.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to grow in-store and online presence, managing promotions and campaigns within Shopify and communicating initiatives to sales staff.
  • Lead retail training on product knowledge, selling best practices, and POS procedures (discounts, BOGOs, Shopify updates, and team member PIN management).
  • Build and manage a high-performing, knowledgeable retail team, coordinating with the Operations Manager on staffing needs to support a positive customer experience.
  • Set up building access codes for door locks and alarm systems.
  • Report to and represent the store in meetings with directors and Family of Companies leadership.
  • Maintain close relationships with events, groups, and other entities within the Stanford group and broader Family of Companies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of retail sales experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven track record of driving sales performance and managing a team toward results.
  • Familiarity with Shopify or similar e-commerce/POS platforms.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a passion for delivering an exceptional in-store experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the store to leadership and external partners
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
