Job description

UX Designer (Physical Products & DTC Experience)

Carepod is a premium home wellness brand known for reimagining everyday products through thoughtful design and exceptional customer experience. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a UX Designer to improve how customers interact with our products—from discovering them online to using them every day.

This role goes beyond traditional digital UX. You’ll help shape the complete customer experience across our physical products, packaging, website, and educational materials, ensuring every touchpoint is intuitive, consistent, and premium.

Working closely with Product Development, Marketing, Customer Support, Operations, and HQ, you’ll conduct usability research, identify friction points, and design improvements that create measurable business and customer impact.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys blending physical product experience, customer research, and digital UX within a fast-growing consumer brand.

What You’ll Do

🧪 Product UX & Customer Research

  • Conduct product usability testing and user research
  • Observe customer behavior and identify usability pain points
  • Analyze customer reviews, support tickets, surveys, and feedback to recommend product improvements
  • Develop personas, customer journeys, and user experience maps

💻 Website UX

  • Improve the user experience across Shopify, landing pages, and product pages
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and UX recommendations
  • Partner with Marketing to improve conversion and customer education
  • Help optimize product presentation and online purchasing experience

📦 Product Experience

  • Improve packaging, unboxing, onboarding, and instructional materials
  • Ensure a seamless experience from purchase through everyday product use
  • Collaborate with Product Development on usability improvements and new product concepts
  • Support accessories and complementary product experiences when applicable

🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with HQ, Product Development, Customer Support, Marketing, and Operations
  • Present UX findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Help support successful product launches across all customer touch points

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will help us:

  • Improve customer satisfaction and product usability
  • Reduce customer confusion and support inquiries
  • Increase website usability and conversion
  • Create premium packaging and onboarding experiences
  • Translate customer feedback into meaningful product improvements
  • Build more intuitive products customers love to use

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in UX Design, Product Design, Interaction Design, or a related field
  • Experience working with direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands
  • Strong understanding of usability testing and user-centered design
  • Experience conducting UX research and customer interviews
  • Ability to create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and journey maps
  • Strong visual communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable collaborating across multiple departments
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with physical consumer products or home appliances
  • Packaging or unboxing experience design
  • Customer Experience (CX) background
  • Shopify or Amazon experience
  • Experience improving product education or onboarding materials

Tools

  • Figma
  • Adobe Creative Suite

Who Will Thrive Here

  • Someone who enjoys solving real customer problems
  • Someone equally interested in physical products and digital experiences
  • Someone who likes ownership and autonomy
  • Someone who enjoys working with multiple teams and seeing ideas become reality
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-moving, growing company

Who May Not Be a Fit

  • Someone focused exclusively on mobile app or SaaS UX
  • Someone who prefers strategy without execution
  • Someone uncomfortable working cross-functionally
  • Someone who prefers highly structured corporate environments
