Each piece is produced in limited quantities using responsibly sourced and recycled fabrics from Italy and Japan, with an emphasis on durability and sustainability. Marfa Stance empowers individuals to create a uniquely personal, evolving style that can be personalised, shared and worn season after season. The brand focuses on intelligent design and continuity, offering customers long-term value and creative freedom.

Role Description The Assistant Store Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in North Chicago, IL. This position supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, visual merchandising, inventory management, and ensuring a premium customer experience aligned with the Marfa Stance brand. The Assistant Store Manager will lead and motivate store team members, coordinate schedules, and support training to maintain high service standards and operational efficiency. Day-to-day tasks include engaging customers on the sales floor, providing product knowledge and styling guidance, managing point-of-sale activities, and monitoring store performance metrics. The role also involves implementing loss prevention practices, maintaining store cleanliness and organization, and collaborating with leadership to drive sales and customer loyalty.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a focus on building long-term relationships: personal shopping and clientelling experience is beneficial
  • A passion for product and styling
  • Effective Communication skills for interacting with customers, guiding team members, and collaborating with management.
  • Experience in Store Management or retail leadership, including supervising staff, managing daily operations, and supporting sales targets.
  • Previous experience in fashion or specialty retail is essential
  • Ability to work on-site full time, including some weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort with POS systems and basic retail analytics. Shopify experience is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability, quality, and a customer-centric approach to retail.
