Job description


Purpose:

Assist the Director of Research and Development to keep up with the newness and innovation of fabrics and trims to keep up with current growth for all divisions and capsules. Provide administrative support and sourcing communication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This role will directly support the process and improvements in the tooling by adding execution capacity where the team is most stretched.
  • Add execution capacity so projects are properly planned rather than rushed through.
  • Help absorb the growing volume of trim and fabric development, especially in the expanding denim division
  • Handle day-to-day administrative work and sourcing communication, including overseas coordination with Turkey and India
  • Current/ongoing: Trims, Labeling items, Insignia rollout, Flash, Exclusives, Anniversary, Special capsules (ShopBop, Marilyn Monroe), GWP initiatives (totes, scarves, candles, towels), Labels/Hangtags, Denim capsules (Little Black Jean).
  • Free up the R&D Director's time to focus on supplier strategy and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Support faster sourcing cycles, faster approvals, and better calendar adherence


Qualifications:

  • Entry level. Prior experience in textiles, product development, or sourcing preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of comparable to luxury/designer brands apparel.
  • Highly creative and passionate about luxury/designer brands.
  • Eager to learn and gain true industry work experience.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative to solve problems.
  • Hard working individual who is receptive to feedback and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

  • This position requires frequent use of a computer, mouse and keyboard.
  • Frequent sitting.
