Position Summary

Bell-Mark Technologies is seeking a Machine Shop Quality Control Inspector to perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of machined and fabricated components. The inspector verifies conformance to engineering drawings, inspection plans, customer requirements, and quality standards using calibrated precision instruments and advanced measurement systems. The role also documents results, controls nonconforming work, and supports corrective action and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of CNC-machined and fabricated components.

• Use micrometers, calipers, height and bore gauges, indicators, surface plates, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), FARO Arms, and other calibrated measuring and test equipment as qualified.

• Read and interpret mechanical and structural-detail drawings, schematics, inspection plans, technical specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Verify material type, size, grade, and required traceability for parts produced in-house or supplied by outside vendors.

• Set up, check, care for, and properly store inspection equipment; support calibration and verification activities.

• Record inspection results and prepare receiving, in-process, final, and daily quality reports.

• Identify, document, segregate, and verify the repair, rework, or disposition of nonconforming material or workmanship.

• Communicate inspection findings and corrective-action needs to Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production personnel.

• Support root-cause analysis and continuous-improvement efforts while minimizing disruption to shop workflow.

• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area; follow all safety, quality, and conduct requirements; perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T, including datums, basic dimensions, feature control frames, tolerance zones, Maximum Material Condition, Least Material Condition, and Regardless of Feature Size.

• Proficiency with precision measurement tools and familiarity with CMM operation and dimensional-inspection methods.

• Strong practical math, analytical, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

• Detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic quality or ERP systems.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and reliably commute or relocate to Dover, Pennsylvania.

• U.S. citizenship at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience programming or operating CMMs and using FARO Arms or similar portable coordinate-measurement systems.

• Experience with first-article inspection, nonconformance reporting, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous-improvement methods.

• Three to five years of industrial experience as a journeyman machinist, CNC machinist, machine operator, or in a comparable machining role.

• At least three years of industrial quality-control inspection experience in a CNC machine shop or manufacturing environment.
