Position Summary

Colonial Fence Co. is seeking a dependable, motivated CDL Driver / Shop Helper to join our growing team. This position plays a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly by safely delivering fence materials to wholesale customers and job sites, picking up materials from vendors, and assisting our fabrication shop during downtime. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, hardworking, and enjoys a variety of tasks throughout the workday.

ResponsibilitiesCDL Driving & Deliveries
  • Safely operate company CDL vehicles to deliver wholesale fence materials to customers and job sites.
  • Pick up materials, supplies, and equipment from vendors and suppliers.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
  • Verify deliveries for accuracy and obtain required delivery documentation.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized company truck.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
Shop & Warehouse Support
  • Assist with fabrication of fence panels, gates, and custom steel products as needed.
  • Load and unload incoming shipments.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse inventory and materials.
  • Prepare materials for upcoming deliveries and installations.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (training provided if needed).
  • Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist other departments with general labor tasks when required.
Qualifications
  • Valid CDL (Class A preferred; Class B considered depending on experience).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 75+ pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Dependable with excellent attendance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Forklift experience is a plus (or willingness to be trained).
