Description


It is the responsibility of the Machine Shop Utility to assist in all the peripheral functions to operating the CNC machine tools. This includes deburring, operating the band saws, drill presses, angle-hole machines, maintenance functions, parts movement, order picking and other duties as assigned.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deburr manifolds, filter bodies, and other critical components ensuring that under the inspection of a borescope there are no loose materials or sharp edges that would interfere with the operation of a tight tolerance, clean hydraulic system.
  • Saw material to proper sizes and quantities in accordance with work orders, bills of material, manufacturing specifications and Engineering drawings.
  • Operate and maintain automatic saw for optimum performance.
  • Deburr sawn edges and delivers cut material to the next manufacturing department.
  • Monitor and lubricate all of the shop machines tools on a daily basis.
  • Operate secondary equipment such as angle-hole machines, drill presses, and belt sanders.
  • Move completed material to the appropriate location.
  • Pull material as need to support machine shop functions using the forklift, pallet jack, and Raymond.
  • Work in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
  • Enter general Labor Hours and Quantity Completion figures for each job into the ERP System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Experience in fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Capability to obtain forklift certification to drive a forklift, including RAYMOND upright.
