Job description

Stan's Shoes in Glendale, WI is looking for a full-time Shoe Sales Associate to join our team. If you enjoy connecting with people, solving problems, and helping customers feel their best, this is a role where you'll make a meaningful difference every day.
As a Shoe Sales Associate, you'll deliver our signature sit-and-fit experience by measuring customers, recommending footwear and insoles, and helping each person find the right fit for their lifestyle. Whether you're assisting a busy parent, an athlete, or someone looking for relief from foot pain, every customer interaction is an opportunity to build trust and improve someone's day.
What the Role Looks Like
Customer Experience & Fit
You'll provide personalized service that keeps customers coming back by:
  • Welcoming customers and creating a friendly, comfortable shopping experience
  • Measuring feet and conducting our signature sit-and-fit consultation
  • Recommending footwear and insoles based on comfort, support, and lifestyle needs
  • Helping customers understand the benefits of different brands and fit technologies
  • Ensuring every customer leaves feeling confident in their purchase
Product Knowledge & Sales
You'll become a trusted footwear expert by:
  • Building knowledge of footwear brands, construction, and fit technologies
  • Staying current on new products, seasonal styles, and best sellers
  • Making thoughtful recommendations that solve customer needs rather than simply making a sale
  • Helping customers discover products that enhance comfort and long-term foot health
Store Operations & Teamwork
You'll also help create a store customers enjoy visiting by:
  • Working collaboratively with teammates to deliver an outstanding customer experience
  • Processing transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Maintaining an organized, clean, and well-stocked sales floor
  • Supporting merchandising, inventory, and other daily store responsibilities
How You Work
No matter the task, you bring a mindset aligned with our values:
  • You Lead with Care - You enjoy helping people and making them feel welcome.
  • You Build Trust - You listen carefully and recommend what's truly best for each customer.
  • You Stay Curious - You're eager to learn about footwear, fit, and customer needs.
  • You Contribute to the Team - You enjoy working alongside others to create a great experience for every customer.
What We Offer
Pay & Schedule
  • $12/hour base pay or commission, whichever is greater for the pay period
    • Typical earnings of $14-$24+ per hour, depending on sales performance
  • Full-time: approximately 32-40 hours per week
    • A varied schedule that includes daytime, evening, and weekend shifts

This is a full-time retail position with a schedule that changes based on business needs. Successful team members enjoy variety and have the flexibility to work a mix of weekdays, evenings, weekends, and peak shopping periods.
Our stores are open:
  • Monday-Friday: 10:00 AM-7:00 PM
  • Saturday: 10:00 AM-6:00 PM
  • Sunday: 11:00 AM-5:00 PM

Team members may also be scheduled before opening or after closing as needed.
Benefits
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Pet insurance
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Employee discount on premium footwear
What You Bring
Required
  • A positive, customer-first mindset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop product knowledge
  • Dependability and flexibility to work a full-time retail schedule

Retail or customer service experience is preferred, but not required-we're happy to train someone with the right attitude and a passion for helping others.
