Salary Range: $74,000.00 To $82,000.00 Annually

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This role will primarily support the Shock Doctor, McDavid, and Cutters brands. Primary responsibilities of this role are to support wide variety of creative asset needs for both digital and traditional marketing. Concept and develop visual solutions that communicate each of our brands or product-specific positioning. Maintain brand standards while also progressing campaign creative to align with current trends. We’re looking for a highly collaborative designer who thinks across the full customer journey, that thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Concept, design, and develop on-brand collateral for digital and print assets, including but not limited to emails, landing pages, website wireframes, paid ads, social posts, in-store signage, product, catalogs, sell sheets, and apparel.
  • Design and build omni-channel assets.
  • Design and produce graphics for specialized applications, including uniform and team apparel graphics for photo shoots and sports activities, as well as product graphics such as those applied to mouth guards.
  • Leverage AI platforms such as Adobe Firefly, Higgsfield, or Flora AI to create and edit visual assets, with a solid understanding of AI-assisted design workflows, and familiarity with tools like Claude or similar AI assistants for connecting design work to other applications and integrating AI processes into the workflow.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and extended creative team on various concepts and approvals.
  • Ability to translate feedback into finished designs.
  • Actively participate in meetings and critiques as a team member.
  • Maintain structure of file naming, storing, and organizing.
  • Ensure files for production are properly built and work within specified parameters.
  • Perform work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain brand standards across all marketing materials.
  • Consistently research, identify, and share current design trends and industry standards.
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • This is a full-time position
  • Typical work hours and days are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • This position is based out of the Costa Mesa, CA office
  • No travel is expected for this position.
  • This position requires in-office attendance at least 4 days per week (subject to increase in future).

PAY TRANSPARENCY

  • The Company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
  • The salary range for this role in Costa Mesa, CA is $74,000.00 - $82,000.00.
  • In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including health & wellness benefits, retirement, time off, employee discounts, and others.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position does not have any leadership requirements and/or responsibilities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or formal training in graphic design, digital design, typography, or visual communications or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of successful professional design experience digital design, in-house experience preferred.
  • Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, with After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Lightroom as a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with AI image generation and editing models, and working knowledge of AI workflow integration tools such as Claude.
  • Possesses strong typography skills and compositional sense, with familiarity in grid-based design methodology for layouts.
  • Solid understanding of team sports culture and equipment, ideally with personal experience playing or participating in team sports, particularly football, flag football, basketball, hockey, and lacrosse, as well as fitness training and running.
  • In-depth expertise developing creative solutions across a broad range of platforms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, with a keen eye for consistency.
  • Team-oriented, dedicated, inquisitive, and collaborative.
  • Self-starter, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of print production processes, proofing, Pantone color matching, digital color, and separations is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Candidate must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with ability to: be in a stationary position 50% of the time; occasionally move about inside the office to access fine cabinets, office machinery (such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.); constantly operate a computer; occasionally ascend/descend stairs; constantly position self to maintain files in file cabinets; the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations; the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feed of the observer); and frequently move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across office for various needs. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions if projects/opportunities arise. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
