We are committed to fostering talent and providing hands-on training to individuals eager to advance their careers in welding and ship fitting. Our focus on skill development ensures that our team is equipped to meet the demands of our growing business.


Details of the Training:

  • Participate in a 3-4 week, PAID, hands-on training program focused on learning the basics of shipyard work as well as Outfitting Techniques.
  • You will learn applicable safety protocols and how to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assist in various welding and fitting tasks and projects under the guidance of the Training Manager.
  • Engage in continuous learning and skill development to prepare for future opportunities within the company.


Requirements

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Basic mechanical aptitude. (Must be able to complete a basic aptitude written test)
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills.
  • Strong w illingness to learn and improve skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Availability to work from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday-Thursday) and 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Friday).
  • Ability to come to work regularly and on time and adhere to the attendance policies of Master Boat Builders.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions subject to both extreme heat/cold temperatures.
  • Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, lift and climb ladders.
  • Ability to work in high places.
