Description

The Sandblaster/ Painter SOMAR prepares surfaces for painting by sandblasting, solvent cleaning, chipping, grinding, or other means of preparation, and mixes & applies paints and coatings as directed by the Paint Foreman SOMAR. Other duties include the cleaning of cargo, void, and other spaces on company vessels, and general shipyard housekeeping as directed by the Paint Foreman SOMAR.

This position operates with a high regard for personal and coworker safety, and in compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) and state and federal health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to meet validated strength and endurance standards.
