Job description

Production Expeditor I

This position is located at the Bayou La Batre, AL facility.

Join the Birdon team and help ensure USCG boats are safe and reliable!


Key Responsibilities

  • Govern the Business Central ERP in-yard-dates provided from purchase orders to audit delinquencies and ensure the dates are updated and accurate from the vendors/suppliers.
  • Review the rolling 12 weeks plan to resolve material shortages with supply chain, and partners to ensure a successful baseline plan execution. Highlight items for expedition and act, empowered to reach out to external partners/suppliers if necessary
  • Auditing that material 2 weeks prior to planned production start is physically onsite and ready for production call off, resolving any conflicts
  • Work with planners and production to see if a work package with partial unavailable material can be started, with material expedited or needs to be moved
  • After exhausting all mitigations to resolve, engage directly with the Master Scheduler to provide forecast dates for work packages with material issues that cannot be resolved to support the baseline plan, allowing any potential schedule adjustments.


Qualifications and experience

  • High School degree or GED preferred.
  • Previous Shipyard experience and material expedition either in Production Control or Supply Chain
  • Strong MS Office Skills – High Level of Excel and Outlook
  • High Energy – Relentless Individual
  • Business Central Dynamic 365 Suite preferred
