As the Naval Shipyard Sr. Advisor, you will serve as the liaison for the DRPM Subs program office and provide technical, logistic, and management support at private shipyard facilities to assist in maintaining cost, schedule, and performance of in-service submarine maintenance and modernization, at Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding. The Team Submarine concept unifies diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force. In this role, you will: * Work with Supervisor of Shipbuilding to identify, evaluate and resolve submarine maintenance availability issues, provide recommended corrective actions. * Assess, advise and inform shipyard managers in monitoring and maintaining appropriate cost, schedule and performance of submarine maintenance through all phases in planning and execution. * Participate in the technical review, evaluation, development of management metrics and associated benchmarks. * Evaluate plans for accomplishment of submarine life cycle maintenance and modernization; evaluate and develop contingency plans/schedules. * Participate in engineering reviews, technical assessments, and submarine operational maintenance support to Supervisor of Shipbuilding for TEMPALTS, audits, and program policy decisions. Provide information as required to DRPM Subs PMS392 Program Office to inform decisions. To be successful in this role, you will have: * An active DoW Secret Clearance. * A US Citizenship. * A Bachelor's degree. * or High School Diploma/GED and 4 additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree. * 10 years of experience (Experience in managing submarine maintenance and modernization projects in an industrial environment highly preferred). * Supervisory/Leadership experience or similar experience. * The ability to travel up to 10%.
