Position Summary

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for executing high-volume, end-to-end shipping and fulfillment operations in a fast-paced environment within the Warehouse and Shipping department. This is a non-exempt, hourly role focused on accuracy, productivity, and on-time delivery.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receive and process daily orders from the warehouse management system (WMS) with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

Pick, pack, and prepare shipments including finished goods, printed materials, and related items in alignment with work order specifications

Ensure all shipments meet quality standards, including verifying quantities, specifications, and special handling instructions

Inspect products and packaging for defects and escalate discrepancies as needed

Review and prioritize work orders to meet production schedules, shipping deadlines, and customer expectations

Follow established SOPs and contribute ideas for process improvement

Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and assist in discrepancy resolution

Communicate delays, safety concerns, or operational risks to leadership in a timely manner

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace in compliance with OSHA and company standards

Requirements

Qualifications- Education, Experience, Licenses/Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent requiredย 

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or order fulfillment environment preferredย 

Experience with inventory control, picking/packing, and order fulfillment processes preferredย 

Forklift certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification upon hireย 

Basic computer proficiency, including experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order processing softwareย 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working knowledge of parcel shipping systems, including FedEx and UPSย 

Basic understanding of freight shipping processes is a plusย 

Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory handlingย 

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentย 

Effective communication skills and ability to escalate issues appropriatelyย 

Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines consistentlyย 

Basic problem-solving skills and ability to identify and report discrepanciesย 


Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, and move packages up to 50 pounds on a regular basisย 

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion throughout the shiftย 

Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks (forklift operation where applicable)ย 

Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditionsย 

Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailย 


Compensation

This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. The base compensation range for this role is $17.00 - $22.00 per hour, plus benefits.

This position is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including California wage and hour requirements.

Compensation within the posted range will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, job-related skills, education, and geographic location.
