Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for identifying incoming loaded trucks and assisting with dumper and loader positions. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:              

  • Under general supervision, identify incoming, loaded trucks and communicate to appropriate personnel
  • Monitor offal trailers and report when they will need to be moved; ensure all valves on offal trailers are closed
  • Pick up strays on property and hanging pen
  • Relieve dumper position when regular associate on break
  • Load product onto outgoing trucks
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures
  • Work in compliance with all company policies, GMP's, FSMA regulations and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Basic computer knowledge and usage skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45F, 4C)
  • Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift
  • Will be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production
