Job description

We are looking for a Shipping Lead to help coordinate daily shipping operations, support and develop team members, and ensure customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately, safely, and efficiently.

Shift Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

In This Role

  • Support the Assistant Manager and Manager by coordinating daily shipping activities and promoting safe, efficient operations
  • Assist in supervising, training, and coaching Shipping Associates assigned to your shift
  • Coordinate outbound shipping activities, ensuring customer orders are picked, packed, staged, and loaded accurately and on schedule
  • Verify shipments against sales orders, packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation
  • Process inventory transactions and ensure accurate shipment confirmations within the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Assist in resolving shipping discrepancies, shortages, damages, and order exceptions
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), product handling standards, and safety requirements are followed
  • Assign and monitor daily work activities and support the completion of special projects
  • Coordinate with Transportation to ensure outbound loads are prepared and dispatched on time
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings to review safety, performance, and workload priorities
  • Support warehouse productivity, quality, shipping accuracy, and on-time delivery goals
  • Collaborate with Inventory Control, Quality, Transportation, and Warehouse Operations teams as needed
  • Ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and compliant with all safety programs
  • Correct unsafe conditions and immediately escalate uncorrectable issues to warehouse leadership
  • Assist in securing the facility at the end of each day
  • Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications

The Ideal Person

  • 4+ years of warehouse, distribution, shipping, or lead experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience with shipping operations, inventory control processes, and warehouse management systems
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and warehouse systems
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and maneuver items up to 225 lbs with assistance
  • Comfortable with continuous walking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, and reaching for up to 8 hours per day in a warehouse environment
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Steel-toed boots or shoes are required during work hours
