Job description

Summary:
The Warehouse Associate performs tasks related to receiving, storing and shipping product, and creating, fulfilling and processing customer orders. Maintain safety, accuracy and efficiency standards during all stages of the daily operations. Contribute to a positive culture and maintain flexibility to assist departments outside their normal daily functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform functions related to receiving of product including new, used, service, and returned goods, observing all safety precautions
  • Read customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be picked and shipped
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas
  • Assemble and pack customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or in bins
  • Process orders using approved carrier's online service
  • Pack all items using proper procedures to prevent damages. Include packing slip with each order
  • Attach required labels to packages, compliant with all HAZMAT shipping laws and requirements
  • Verify items on order for accuracy
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
  • Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed
Skills/Experience Required:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two to four years of experience in warehousing preferred
  • Experience with personal computer equipment
  • Experience driving material handling equipment (Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, Forklift) preferred
  • Ability to use carrier's computer shipping system for processing, labeling and tracking packages
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Ability to work in fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for long continuous periods of time
  • May engage in some repetitive motion
  • May engage in frequent bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
  • Ability to occasionally sit, climb or balance; ability to climb ladders up to 15 feet
  • Ability to continuously lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh 50+ pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Continuous is defined as 6-8 hours, frequently is defined as 3-6 hours, and occasionally is defined as up to 3 hours.
Work Schedule: Employee will be required to work a minimum of forty (40) hours of per week or as many hours as it may take to perform above job duties. Schedule may vary based on business demands and will require a combination of office hours as well as work performed after hours and/or weekends at times.
