Logistics Associate
POSITION INFORMATION
This position is responsible for executing the end-to-end shipping process, including preparing and maintaining domestic and international documentation for imports and exports, coordinating with freight forwarders to meet customer requests, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
ROLE MISSION
This role facilitates efficient and compliant shipping operations that meet delivery expectations and customer requirements. Ensure data integrity, prompt issue resolution, and promote effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, supporting the company's logistics and export compliance objectives
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute end-to-end shipping processes, including domestic and international documentation for import and export
• Coordinate with freight forwarders to arrange cost-effective and customer-specific shipping methods
• Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and federal rules for all export activities
• Prepare, maintain, and generate necessary documentation for import/export operations
• Input and correct transactions in systems like SAP to ensure data integrity and timely processing
• Interface with internal and external customers, freight forwarders, and subsidiaries to facilitate shipments
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
• Handle and resolve discrepancies related to purchase orders, receiving documents, and freight damage claims
• Research and determine optimal shipping methods based on delivery expectations, costs, and carrier reputation
• Train employees on workstations and procedures
• Ensure reliable attendance, courteous communication, and effective interaction in all working relationships
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education (School/Specialization) High School Diploma or equivalent
Primary Language Fluent English
Experience 5 + years of similar experience
Skills / Abilities
• Prior experience in international shipping
• Able to demonstrate good oral and written skills, basic math skills, and a high degree of accuracy/attention to detail.
• Requires forklift training and regular certification and adherence to Datalogic operator standards.
• Ability to flex throughout departments as required for business needs.
• PC and basic word processing and spreadsheet applications. SAP, Excel.
