Summary:

Supervises and coordinates all outbound shipping activities to ensure customer orders are picked, staged, verified, and shipped accurately, securely, and on time in accordance with customer requirements, company procedures, and quality standards. Provides direct hands-on support to the warehouse team, safeguards against fraudulent or unauthorized pickups, and partners cross-functionally to drive on-time end-of-month order releases and shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads team to process and oversee outbound shipments for customer delivery, ensuring orders are picked, packed, staged, verified, and released accurately and on schedule.
  • Works closely with customers and internal teams to understand and meet specific customer shipping requirements, routing guides, labeling, documentation, and delivery windows.
  • Enforces shipping and verification procedures witha high levelof attention to detail to confirm carrier, order, and pickup authenticity, preventing fraudulent or unauthorized pickups.
  • Verifies driver identification, purchase order/BOL, seal integrity, and pickup authorization against approved documentation before releasing any shipment.
  • Provides direct hands-on support to the warehouse team through active forklift operation,maintaininga validforklift certification and modeling safe material-handling practices.
  • Partners with Quality, Operations, and Customer Service to build and drive a clear action plan for end-of-month order releases and shipping, ensuring monthly targets are met.
  • Coordinates daily shipping priorities, dock scheduling, and carrier appointments to maximize on-time delivery and dock efficiency.
  • Reviews and confirms shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, ASNs, and customer-specific paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with company SOPs (including shipping procedures), FDA/cGMP, DOT, and customer requirements for all outbound freight.
  • Supervises, schedules, trains, and develops shipping personnel; sets priorities and reassigns work to meet the shipping schedule.
  • Monitors andreportsshipping KPIs (on-time shipment, accuracy, dock-to-stock, and month-end release performance) and recommends corrective actions.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe shipping and staging area, ensuring adherence to 5S, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Investigates and resolves shipping discrepancies, damages, and customer complaints, and drives root-cause corrective actions.
  • Coordinates with Planning, Inventory Control, and Customer Service on order status, changes, and delivery commitments.
  • Supports physical inventory, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy for finished goods staged for shipment, as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of shipping, warehouse, or distribution experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Valid forklift certification required (or ability to obtain and maintain certification); demonstrated hands-on forklift proficiency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of shipping documentation, carrier requirements, BOLs, and customer routing guides.
  • Familiarity with FDA/cGMP, DOT, and quality/safety compliance in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to enforce security and verification procedures consistently.
  • Good logic,mathematic, and writing skills; well organized and capable of working under pressure.
  • Capable of setting priorities and re-arrangingsameto meet the shipping schedule.
  • Proficient with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., QAD) and Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
