Job description

General Warehouse Team Member

Position Overview: As a General Warehouse Team Member, you will be responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, shipment and production process of materials according to all established Company and regulatory policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely receipt and shipping of all materials following FIFO and potential freight claim or back order procedures while supporting all freight and safety policies
  • Receive, unload and process inbound material and shipments; stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments
  • Perform a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product; move, store and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts
  • Understand and comply with applicable DOT, EPA, OSHA and specific HS&E requirements
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment
  • Accurately maintain shipping and receiving related information
  • Communicate potential stockouts, damaged material/packaging or labeling to appropriate staff in a timely manner
  • Partner with Drivers to ensure efficient loading and delivery of shipments

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience in a warehouse environment, including experience with order picking, shipping, receiving, inventory counts, pick/pack
  • Knowledge and understanding of FIFO, OSHA requirements, safety awareness, and hazardous material shipping
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Forklift certification
  • Associate's degree

Expected Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn internal database and software systems (SAP); proficient with near-miss and MSDS, UPS, FedEx, and dedicated Logistics systems
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Physical Requirements for a General Warehouse Team Member:

  • Must be able to use safe work protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Moderate to heavy physical activity, regularly required to stand, use hands and reach with hands and arms; required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; may be required to sometimes sit, climb, or balance.
  • Ability to independently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for entire length of shift; regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl; may be required to sometimes sit, climb, or balance.

Pre-Employment Requirement:

Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a physical, drug screen, and background check.

Compensation for this role ranges from $20.50 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, in accordance with state law. All compensation offers are based on skill set, experience, and geographic location of the applicant as relevant to the role.
