Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and versatile Facilities Team Member. This role will support our maintenance and sanitation teams, as well as be responsible for our Shipping & Receiving duties and areas. This multi-roled position is responsible for supporting day-to-day facility maintenance, coordinating the shipping and receiving of materials and products, and performing janitorial duties as needed to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Additional roles and responsibilities may be added as necessary to support overall facilities success.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Unload, sort, and stage incoming freight using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts as required
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and completing shipping documentation
  • Unload and load freight onto vans, trailers, trucks and other vehicles as required
  • Unload and load freight by hand and restack pallets as needed
  • Coordinate with carriers and vendors to schedule pickups and deliveries
  • Maintain accurate records of all inbound and outbound shipments
  • Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages to the appropriate supervisor
  • Organize and maintain the shipping/receiving area for efficiency and safety
  • Empty and replenish large vats of trash via fork lift

Maintenance & Facilities
  • Perform routine building and grounds maintenance tasks (including but not limited to painting, patching, minor repairs, grass cutting, weed spray application, and other landscaping duties)
  • Assist skilled trades staff with general labor on maintenance projects
  • Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify and report maintenance needs
  • Operate and maintain basic maintenance equipment and hand tools
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner

Janitorial Duties (as needed)
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the facility
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
  • Empty waste receptacles and manage trash/recycling disposal
  • Replenish janitorial supplies as required
  • Maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with safety and health regulations
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or facilities/maintenance role
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, work orders, and basic instructions
  • Ability to count and record accurately and legibly
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and email communication
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Forklift and pallet jack certification (must have previous experience and be willing to certify on-site)
  • Ability to drive a box truck, cargo van, or other vehicles for delivery purposes

Preferred
  • Experience with inventory management software or shipping platforms (UPS, FedEx, etc.)
  • General knowledge of building systems and basic repair techniques

Requirements
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working in varying indoor/outdoor environmental conditions
  • Familiar with working with cleaning chemicals and alcohols for sanitation purposes
  • Must be able to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
