Job description

Position Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, moving, tracking, and shipping materials in support of TEC operations. This position maintains inventory accuracy, ensures proper material identification and traceability, supports production through timely material availability, and performs shipping and receiving activities while complying with TEC quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk works closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to ensure efficient material flow throughout the organization.
Essential Functions
The following duties are representative of the position and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
Inventory Management
  • Receive, inspect, identify, and store incoming materials.
  • Maintain organized stockroom locations.
  • Perform ERP inventory transactions.
  • Issue material to production work orders.
  • Kit materials for manufacturing.
  • Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify Purchasing of shortages.
  • Maintain FIFO inventory where applicable.
  • Verify lot numbers, serial numbers, shelf life, and revisions.
  • Maintain inventory traceability required by customer and regulatory requirements.

Shipping and Receiving
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify quantity and condition.
  • Process receiving documentation.
  • Prepare customer shipments.
  • Package products to customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Generate shipping labels and documentation.
  • Coordinate freight shipments.
  • Support domestic and international shipments.
  • Maintain shipping records.
  • Assist with export documentation as required.

Material Handling
  • Move material throughout the facility.
  • Deliver production kits as needed.
  • Maintain staging areas.
  • Operate pallet jacks and material handling equipment.
  • Assist with packaging materials and finished goods.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify inventory discrepancies.
  • Recommend process improvements.
  • Support ERP data accuracy.
  • Assist with warehouse organization projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment after training.
  • Ability to distinguish labels, part numbers, and color-coded inventory markings.

Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with regular exposure to shipping, receiving, production, and inventory operations. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be work as required.
