Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our Shipping Team as a Shipping and Transportation Operator located in Elkridge, MD.
The Shipping Team is responsible for the packaging, transportation, and sell-off of material. The team processes deliveries of all types including both domestic and international shipments for government and commercial contracts. The Shipping and Transportation Operator will be supporting the needs of various programs in the packing and shipping process. Additional responsibilities will include loading and transporting material and operating heavy equipment as needed.
This position is 100% onsite.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Creating and processing deliveries through SAP
  • Maintaining a clean and organize shipping workspace
  • Monitoring packaging material, inventory, and processing orders for replenishment material as needed
  • Packaging finished product to military standards (MIL-STD-2073)
  • Creating labeling and markings for packages
  • Tracking progress towards contractual and on-time delivery milestones/goals
  • Keeping records of and reporting completed shipments
  • Moving material between locations using company vehicles weighing up to 26,000 lbs.
  • Loading large materials and equipment onto trucks/trailers using forklifts and heavy equipment
  • Working closely with manufacturing, inspection, production control, and OPMs to support program goals

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience supporting government/military contracts related to Shipping and/or Logistics requirements
  • Experience loading large material for transportation
  • Experience with basic Microsoft products
  • Experience working in SAP or another MRP system
  • Ability to obtain and maintain HAZMAT and forklift certifications
  • Ability to independently lift 35 lbs. and team lift 100 lbs.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active/Current U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience loading vehicles onto trailers
  • Packaging of kits to military standards
  • 2 years of experience with SAP or MRP systems
  • 4 years of experience driving commercial vehicles
  • Currently maintaining a valid Class A CDL
  • Active HAZMAT certification
  • Understanding of MIL-STD-2073 and experience packaging/shipping military equipment

Primary Level Salary Range: $50,882.00 - $121,755.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
