Job description

Job summary

This is a multi-faceted position which not only executes the traditional duties of shipping and receiving, but also allows the opportunity to get ‘out and about’ meeting vendors and customers. This position also supports other departments with light assembly and preventative maintenance work. So, if you like the challenge of being highly organized, problem solving, and learning new things, this might be the job for you!

Responsibilities/daily tasks

  • Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance using custom software; determine the most economical and efficient shipping method; select appropriate shipping container; pack items to ensure safe delivery.
  • Receive goods and verify the quality and count of all items unloaded and check against suppliers count and immediately report discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing per policy.
  • Maintain department database, complete and file shipping/receiving records.
  • Drive company vehicle to deliver shipments; assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area.
  • Assist in routine maintenance of delivery vehicle and shipping area
  • Learn other miscellaneous company-related duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PCs, FedEx and UPS websites.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read technical documents and understand units of measure
  • Work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Organized with a drive for precision and exactness in their performance.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities that may change quickly.
  • Experience driving a forklift (ideal, but not a requirement)

This position is considered an entry level position within the company. It is a unique position that lets the employee learn about our wide variety of products and various departments. The work environment is clean, well-ventilated, and air conditioned. Leadership will provide all necessary tools and training to complete tasks.

Employee benefits include health insurance, paid time off for vacation, sick days and 10 paid holidays. The work schedule is 6:30am – 5:00pm Tuesday - Friday. Occasional overtime is expected. Compensation will be discussed during the interview and depends on experience.
