Filterbuy, an industry leader in indoor air quality, is seeking an experienced Shipping Manager to lead all outbound operations at our New Kensington, PA facility. This role is responsible for safe and efficient e-commerce fulfillment, wholesale fulfillment, and intercompany distribution across multiple shifts.


The Shipping Manager will lead a team of Shipping Supervisors and warehouse personnel, drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize labor and transportation processes, and partner closely with Production, Inventory, Customer Service, Maintenance, and Procurement to support business objectives. The Shipping Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations, North region.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead all outbound shipping operations across multiple shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate execution.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Shipping Supervisors and frontline warehouse associates.
  • Establish daily and weekly labor plans based on production schedules, customer demand, and carrier schedules.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, packed, staged, loaded, and shipped accurately and on time.
  • Plan and execute intercompany distribution shipments to downstream Distribution Centers in Toronto and New Jersey.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy within the shipping department by ensuring accurate inventory transactions, reconciliations, and movement of finished goods within the ERP/WMS.
  • Collaborate with the Production team to ensure finished goods are available to meet customer shipping requirements.
  • Monitor shipping performance, productivity, quality, and service levels while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive accountability through KPIs including On Time Shipping, Shipping Accuracy, Productivity, and Lead Times. 
  • Develop staffing plans and participate in hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching to supervisors and team members.
  • Collaborate with Production, Inventory, Customer Service, and Procurement to resolve operational challenges.
  • Manage relationships with parcel carriers, LTL providers, and freight partners.
  • Ensure compliance with customer shipping requirements and carrier regulations.
  • Analyze shipping data and operational metrics to identify trends and implement process improvements.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives within the shipping department.
  • Monitor departmental expenses, labor utilization, and shipping supplies to control operating costs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company safety policies, and quality procedures.
  • Investigate shipping errors, customer complaints, and operational issues while implementing corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for shipping-related operational issues.
  • Support year-end physical inventories and cycle count activities as needed.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive shipping, warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience managing supervisors or multiple warehouse teams.
  • Experience managing inventory accuracy, cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and warehouse inventory controls.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles, warehouse operations, and ERP/WMS inventory transactions.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or high-volume eCommerce fulfillment environment.
  • Proficiency with professional software including Microsoft Office or Google G-Suite and virtual connectivity tools such as Slack or Teams.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Experience within HVAC, air filtration, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement training.
  • Forklift certification or experience managing powered industrial equipment operations.
  • Experience managing multiple shifts and/or 7/day/week operations.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance.
