Job description

We are seeking a Shipping Supervisor to join the Seamless Mill team located in Pueblo, Colorado. As a Shipping Supervisor, you will be responsible for all day-to-day manufacturing and quality operations on the seamless mill. This position reports directly to the General Supervisor for the Seamless Mill.

  • Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues, coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures

  • Conduct shift safety meetings and daily toolbox talks, train employees on safe work practices, and conduct daily safe job observations

  • Use LEAN tools from the Rocky Mountain Steel Business System to engage employees to continuously improve mill operations

  • Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training

  • Responsible for managing an operational and quality team during manufacturing operations and while performing operational maintenance of mechanical equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems

  • Use quality standards to evaluate product conformance and troubleshoot quality issues promptly

  • Maintain and correct electronic and written records including shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance

  • Work with shipping department and railroad to manage truck and rail transfers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree or equivalent experience

  • Three years of industrial supervisory experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel

  • Experience with Oracle, database development, statistical process control, process control, and automation technologies, andlean manufacturing principles

  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills

  • Proven ability to organize and motivate production teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity

  • Proven ability to professionally communicate with all levels of personnel, in written and verbal forms

  • Demonstrated initiative to identify areas, propose and initiate solutions
