JOB SUMMARY:

The Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading St John St and Milliken Warehouse shipping, and receiving operations across two shifts. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods while maintaining inventory accuracy, service levels, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong experience in warehouse management, inventory control, logistics, and team development. This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and provide operational support across shifts when needed to ensure business continuity.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

Experience: 3 plus year s warehouse experience. Previous supervisory experience is preferable.

Computer skills - Word Excel SAP Tyson 1 PPS Communication Skills: Must have good communication and listening skills ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people and have strong leadership abilities. Knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system including experience with inventory transactions, receiving, shipping, reporting, and inventory management processes is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse Team Members.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Schedule labor resources to meet operational demands while managing labor costs and overtime.
  • Provide leadership coverage and support during staffing gaps on first, second, or alternate shifts as needed.
  • Ensure all team members receive required training, certifications, and ongoing development opportunities.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold teams accountable to operational objectives.

Shipping & Receiving Operations

  • Oversee all shipping and receiving activities across both shift and locations.
  • Ensure customer orders are shipped accurately, safely, and on time.
  • Coordinate daily operations with Production, Transportation, Customer Service, and Logistics teams.
  • Verify shipping documentation, bills of lading, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure trailers are loaded safely and efficiently while maximizing trailer utilization.
  • Ensure materials are received accurately and entered into the SAP.
  • Verify purchase orders, receiving documentation, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
  • Coordinate receiving schedules with leads and appointments.
  • Resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies, damaged shipments, and service issues promptly.

Warehouse Management

  • Manage warehouse operations to maintain organized, safe, and efficient storage environments.
  • Monitor warehouse capacity, space utilization, and storage locations.
  • Ensure proper inventory rotation using FIFO and other inventory management best practices.
  • Maintain clean and orderly warehouse conditions that meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and storage practices to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste and improving operational performance.

Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and transactions within SAP system.
  • Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor inventory performance metrics and drive improvements in inventory accuracy.
  • Manage expired, obsolete, and damaged inventory disposition processes.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Promote and maintain a safe workplace through consistent leadership, training, and accountability.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with forklift/PIT safety requirements, certifications, and operating procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety standards, quality systems, OSHA requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Review and manage daily timekeeping activities within UKG and ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are completed effectively.
