Job Description
Location: Lafayette, Colorado

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Manager to join our growing custom millwork team. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing shipping and receiving documents, organizing inventory, experience packaging materials for safe shipping, managing shipping files as well as documenting and dictating travel instructions to drivers for deliveries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned:

  • Create, implement and follow shipping polices and procedures.
  • Create detailed load and shipping lists.
  • Full documentation of shipping tickets.
  • Ability to wrap and package finished product to ensure safe shipping.
  • Maintain shipping inventory and materials.
  • Daily inspection and regular tracking of fleet maintenance including DOT compliance.
  • Collaboration with other departments to help organize and optimize shipping processing.
  • Fill-in as driver as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside vendors and carriers.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with Innergy or ERP system preferred.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task at a high level.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes, oversee drivers and shipping personnel.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, and public groups. Spanish proficiency preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply concepts of basic math.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

Strong computer proficiencies are essential must possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite as well as project management programs.
