Scope:

The Warehouse Supervisor is a frontline leadership role responsible for driving daily execution, performance, and engagement within the Shipping operation. This position plays a critical role in translating volume plans into results by leading teams, aligning labor to demand, and ensuring safety, quality, and service commitments are met.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who thrives in fast‑paced environments, enjoys coaching teams in real time, and is motivated by accountability and continuous improvement. The Operations Supervisor is also a key development role, preparing future leaders within the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision of 10–15 full‑time associates and up to 60 temporary workers during peak season, including Leads and hourly team members
  • Own daily shipping execution to ensure volume is processed safely, accurately, and on time, while supporting the Team Leads in executing daily production plans
  • Partner closely with the Shipping Operations Manager to drive operational performance, labor efficiency, and team development
  • Set daily priorities and expectations for Team Leads and associates based on volume forecasts and operational goals
  • Lead daily communication with the team regarding volume, priorities, performance, and safety expectations
  • Coach Team Leads and associates through ongoing feedback, recognition, and corrective action, reinforcing accountability and consistency
  • Ensure adherence to customer‑specific requirements, internal SOPs, and company policies across all shipping activities
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, including equipment usage, housekeeping, and ergonomic standards
  • Monitor operational performance using metrics and statistical analysis; communicate results and expectations to Team Leads
  • Identify performance gaps and drive improvements to workflows, staffing models, and labor allocation
  • Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, accuracy, and cost performance
  • Develop and coordinate training to ensure Team Leads and associates are proficient in shipping processes
  • Support onboarding, cross‑training, and skill development, with a focus on building future supervisors
  • Complete performance reviews and support individual development plans for direct reports
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to resolve issues and support operational goals
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support daily operations and team performance

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations, including at least 2 years supervising 5–10 direct reports and a temporary workforce
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required
  • Demonstrated success leading daily operations in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments
  • Proven judgment in the consistent application of company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Experience working independently with limited supervision while owning day‑to‑day operational outcomes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience creating performance reviews, development plans, and performance documentation
  • Consistently models professional behavior and leads by example on the warehouse floor
  • Comfortable working flexible schedules, including overtime, based on business‑needs
  • Experience navigating Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), using RF scanning devices, and performing accurate data entry
  • Demonstrates strong collaboration skills, a solid work ethic, and commitment to team success
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Comfortable using company communication tools (Microsoft Teams) to support daily coordination and execution
  • Forklift or material‑handling equipment experience preferred
  • Reliable attendance and consistent job performance
  • Due to the critical nature of peak operations, full availability is required from October through December, including Thanksgiving week and December weekends. This is a company‑wide expectation and essential to meeting customer commitments during peak volume periods. Candidates that are unavailable during these periods will not be considered as this is a company‑wide blackout policy.
