Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with more than 100 years of industry experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes produced annually. We are committed to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

We are hiring an experienced Shipping Manager for our Chicago, IL manufacturing facility.

Job Summary

The Shipping Manager oversees all outbound shipments, inventory accuracy, and coordination between production, customer service, and freight carriers in a fastpaced envelopemanufacturing environment. The role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to manage daily shipping operations while ensuring accuracy, safety, and ontime delivery. You'll lead a small team, work closely with multiple departments, and help keep our distribution process running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Shipping Operations Oversight - Lead daily shipping activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and ontime delivery
  • Inventory Control Management - Maintain tight control of finishedgoods inventory, cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical audits
  • Material Movement Coordination - Oversee movement of envelopes and raw materials between production, warehousing, and shipping
  • Dock & Carrier Management - Manage dock doors, driver checkins, carrier pickups, and Bills of Lading
  • Production Collaboration - Align shipping schedules with production output to minimize delays and optimize freight costs
  • Team Leadership - Supervise nonexempt employees; train, coach, and certify staff on power industrial equipment
  • Performance Tracking - Monitor daily and monthly shipping KPIs / report results to leadership
  • Safety & Compliance - Ensure a clean, organized, compliant shipping environment aligned with company and OSHA standards

Pay & Work Schedule

  • Pay Range: Starting at $75K -- 85K, depending on experience
  • Flexibility is required to support all shifts and as business needs require
  • Monday -- Friday; Saturdays required during peak production or as business needs dictate
  • For information purposes, production shifts are as follows:
  • 1st: 6:00 AM -- 2:00 PM
  • 2nd: 2:00 PM -- 10:00 PM
  • 3rd: 10:00 PM -- 6:00 AM

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain; equivalent experience accepted
  • 5+ years shipping leadership in manufacturing; envelope/paper converting preferred
  • Freight logistics expertise (carriers, LTL/TL, freight costs, distribution points)
  • JD Edwards, One Max, and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong leadership in fastpaced production environments
  • Clear communication skills, including multilingual team interaction
  • Strong organization and problemsolving
  • Accurate reporting and customer communication
  • Solid math skills (fractions, percentages, ratios, conversions)
  • Crossfunctional coordination with Production, Customer Service, and carriers
  • Inventory accuracy management
  • OSHA and safety knowledge
  • Independent judgment and issue resolution
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Power industrial vehicle trainer certification preferred

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to typical manufacturing conditions, including dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, and temperature variations.
  • Required required to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, grasp, reach, carry, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
