Job description

Position Summary:
The Shipping Coordinator oversees the daily shipping and distribution operations of the organization. This role is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, coordinating with carriers, ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting efficient logistics processes. The Shipping Coordinator works closely with warehouse, production, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Salary:
  • $26.20-$31.50 per hour depending on experience
  • $3 shift differential 2nd shift

Shift:
  • 2nd shift: 2 PM - 10 PM
  • Candidates should also be available to work overtime and weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities:
Shipping & Logistics Coordination
  • Prepare and process all shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, labels, customs forms, etc.).
  • Verify shipping instructions, customer requirements, and delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure shipments meet compliance, packaging, and quality standards.

Order Fulfillment
  • Confirm product availability and collaborate with warehouse staff to prepare shipments.
  • Verify order accuracy before shipment (quantities, product codes, packaging specifications).
  • Monitor and track shipments; proactively communicate delays or issues.

Inventory & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate shipping logs and databases.
  • Update ERP or warehouse management systems
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation as needed.

Compliance & Safety
  • Adhere to company policies, DOT regulations, and international shipping guidelines.
  • Ensure proper labeling and hazardous materials handling (if applicable to the industry).
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shipping area.

Job Specifications:
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or related field.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with domestic and international shipping processes.

Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with shipping software, carrier portals, and ERP systems.
