Shipping Clerk (3rd Shift)

Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for a Shipping Clerk to be based out of our Harvey, IL facility. Reporting to the shift Warehouse Supervisor, the Shipping Clerk's primary focus will be to provide administrative support to our Regional Service Center. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is desired.
What you'll do:
  • Enter and monitor data into JDE • Enter Purchase Orders • Receive Raw and Finish Goods • Prepare Traffic Schedules • Support JDE outbound transactions • Monitor material availability and release orders • Track daily on time delivery and support corrective actions for failures • Arrange carrier pickups and cost efficiency • Provide back up support in the shipping department
  • Document and inbound product shortages, damaged product, or excessive product
  • Notify inventory control of any variances in quantity ordered and quantity received
  • Monitor tag inventory and produce inventory tags
  • Promote a safety culture and awareness within their area of responsibility
  • Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work weekends and off shifts as required

What you'll bring:
  • High school diploma
  • 3-5 years of related work-experience required
  • Computer literate in spreadsheets and work applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands on, accountable team player with the willingness to learn as well as teach others. This position requires extensive time spent within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of AS400, and/or JD Edwards a plus
  • Well organized and able to process large amounts of information

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $38,400 - $52,800. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
