Job Summary:

The Millwork Shipping Associate will ensure millwork purchase orders are pulled and ready for shipment to all millwork customers, including retail facilities and commercial contractors.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and pulls millwork products together for proper shipment to millwork customers.
  • Assists in inspecting millwork products for correct quantity and premium quality before shipment.
  • Assists in stocking & organization of millwork products to designated areas of the warehouse.
  • Loads & unloads merchandise and products for shipment on delivery trucks and vans.
  • Verifies purchase orders are accurate before shipment.
  • Ensures all millwork products and merchandise are packaged and wrapped properly for safe and efficient transportation.
  • Assists in ensuring shipments are ready in accordance with the shipping schedule.
  • Operates a forklift and performs daily inspections that include maintaining the service log.
  • Attends team meetings and company training sessions as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
  • Knowledge of weight distribution and loading patterns.
  • The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
  • Must be available and willing to work such overtime per day or week as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet business needs.

Education/Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and moving around the facility.
  • Must be able to use the three-point hold when getting into trucks and/or forklifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at times, occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds, and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
  • The ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
