Shipping Lead - Houston, TX
Lead the team that keeps quality windows moving safely, accurately, and on time.
Join Our Team
A premier windows manufacturing company in Houston, Texas, is seeking a hands-on Shipping Lead to guide daily shipping and yard operations. In this key role, you will lead forklift operators, maintain inventory accuracy, stage and inspect loads, and help ensure every shipment leaves safely, damage-free, and on schedule.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and direct the daily work of shipping team members.
  • Stage, inspect, load, and unload flatbed trailers and containers.
  • Verify products against pick lists and prevent damaged or incorrect items from shipping or being received.
  • Record inventory and shipment information in the ERP system using a scanner.
  • Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate yard inventory.
  • Operate a forklift safely and maintain required certification.
  • Support daily truck-loading requirements and communicate issues promptly to management.
  • Maintain organized work areas through 5S and follow all safety procedures and work instructions.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of relevant shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing experience.
  • Valid driver's license and forklift experience or certification.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and inventory systems.
  • Safety-focused, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Work Environment
This active manufacturing and yard role requires standing for extended periods, moving throughout the facility, climbing stairs or ladders, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Required personal protective equipment must be worn.
