Job description

2nd Shift Opening โ€“ 4pm โ€“ 12am

Monday-Friday schedule (weekends & overtime as needed)

Starting rate $18.00

Position Summary

The Shipping Lead is responsible for coordinating daily shipping activities, supporting and training shipping personnel, and ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and on time. This position helps lead a fast-paced shipping department by maintaining compliance with customer requirements, company procedures, and transportation regulations.

The Shipping Lead works closely with multiple departments to verify orders, prepare documentation, provide routing instructions, and ensure all shipments are completed efficiently and correctly.


Summary of Job Duties

  • Process packing lists and shipping documentation according to customer requirements.
  • Prepare paperwork and related documents when required.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with applicable regulations, company procedures, and customer specifications.
  • Verify all required processes have been completed prior to shipment by coordinating with production, quality, purchasing, and other departments.
  • Coordinate shipment notifications and distribute shipping paperwork to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor and ensure all loading procedures are followed correctly.
  • Use computer systems to locate product information, shipment details, and order status.
  • Train and support other shipping team members on shipping procedures, documentation, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Support the Materials Supervisor in daily operations and department leadership.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and surrounding production area.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This position operates in both office and manufacturing environments that are non-climate controlled, with noise levels that are moderate to loud, requiring associates to wear hearing protection. Fast-paced team environment with interruptions and ongoing problem solving.

Physical Demands

Regular use of office equipment. Standing, walking, bending, stooping for long periods of time, grip/grasping, twisting, reaching overhead, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs. Use of hand tools and/or power tools, and other industrial equipment. Ability to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
